How long does an IOSH Certificate last?
IOSH Certificates last a lifetime once you’ve earned them. However, life doesn’t standstill. Legislation, workforce structures and technology change so but you’ll need to update or ‘refresh’ your knowledge every 3 years for an IOSH and industry nod of approval. It makes perfect sense to work from the latest and most up-to-date thinking.

Managing Safely Refresher is a really useful option and worth considering if you or your team have studied MS within the last 3 years – It’ll cover any recent changes rather than cover everything from scratch. The average study time online is 2-6 hours.
How long does it take to get an IOSH Qualification?
Each course demands different amounts of study time, here’s F4S’s rule of thumb for online learning:
• Working Safely – 5 hours of study
• Managing Safely – 15 hours of study
• Managing Safely Refresher – 5 hours of study
• Leading Safely for Directors and Executives 5 hours
• CDM Awareness – 3 hours of study
• Mental Health Awareness – 3 hours of study
• Occupational Health and Wellbeing– 6-8 hours of study
• Fire Safety Awareness– 3 hours of study
• Fire Safety for Managers – 6-8 hours of study
How long does it take to get an IOSH Certificate?
Certificate requests are generated to IOSH on successful completion. We send our delegates their certificates within 24 hours of their arrival at our offices.
